Michael Rosner is an American artist born in Chicago, Illinois. After attending Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia in 1996 he relocated to Sacramento, California and worked as a painter, sculptor and carpenter before beginning the series of body paintings in 2006. In addition to live models, Rosner is known for painting on ‘unconventional’ surfaces including elaborate paintings on real leaves with hand selected species collected each fall throughout California. Rosner’s work is known for his complex layered style along with his distinctive visual influences that combine architecture and sacred geometry juxtaposed with either human anatomy or the anatomy of objects found in nature.
Michael Rosner’s work will be on exhibit at Logos Books, 513 Second Street from April 5th till the end of June. His reception will take place on Friday, May 13th from 6 to 8:30 pm. You won’t want to miss the avant garde perspective of this local Sacramento artist.
