Two artists celebrate Logos Books Second Friday Arts About from October though December
Painters Don Harting and Larry Woelfel will exhibit some of their works at Logos from October -December. A reception in their honor will be held at the October Second Friday Art About, on October 10th from 6:30-9:00 pm. Light refreshments will be served, and all are welcome!
Don Harting has been painting mixed media oil landscapes since his retirement 20 years ago. His love o texture has led to paintings that have objects, such as sand, pebbles and tree bark, in the gesso set up for his works. Don works from personal photos or data collected from magazines, travel, or “anything” that looks like a potential for a painting. He regularly shows his new works at the Davis Senior Center, where he paints every Monday morning at their Oil & Acrylic Open Studio. His studio is his garage . . . and is open to visitors whenever public broadcasting music is heard.
Twenty years of retirement has given Larry Woelfel a chance to work longer at his art. He is not just a Sunday painter anymore! He likes doing sculpture, oils and drawings. Some favorite subjects are Greek mythology, Wagner operas and portraits.
